Mrs. Johanna Lavina Wagenmaker, age 91, passed away Tuesday evening, September 4, 2012 in Muskegon. She was born August 27, 1921 to Jacob and Jessie (Bosch) DeRose in New Era, and lived in the Muskegon area since 1929.
She worked on her family's farm, enjoyed gardening and yardwork, and loved to keep her home in immaculate condition. Mrs. Wagenmaker loved to keep in contact with her immediate family, including her nieces and nephews.
She loved her Lord and was a longtime member of the former East Muskegon Christian Reformed Church. She currently is a member of the Fifth Reformed Church. On April 15, 1941 she married her husband of 43 years, Jacob Wagenmaker, and he preceded her in death in 1985.
SURVIVORS include her children, Alvin (Bette) Wagenmaker of Fremont, Marilyn (Kenneth, Jr.) Muston of Twin Lake, Gordon (Kathy) Wagenmaker of Fremont; seven grandchildren, Leanne (Terry) Heykoop, Amy Hoerle, Steven (Gail) Wagenmaker, Heidi Muston, Daniel (Sylvia) Muston, Eric (Kim) Wagenmaker, Kelly (Jason) Foster; nine great-grandchildren, Bonnie and Bailey Heykoop, Katie, Ben, and Claire Hoerle, Sydney and Alex Wagenmaker, Jacob Muston, Karsen Wagenmaker; in-laws, Beverly Ramthun, Anna Wagenmaker, Elizabeth Farber, John (Faye) Wagenmaker, Clarence (Evie) Wagenmaker; many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, Frank DeRose; daughter-in-law, Verna Wagenmaker; grandson-in-law, Dr. David Hoerle; in-laws, Edward (Jeannette) Wagenmaker, Henry (Nellie) Wagenmaker, Albert and Eli Wagenmaker, Grace (Drewes) Tuuk, Winifred (Frank) Kooistra.
THE FUNERAL SERVICE for will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, September 8, at Fifth Reformed Church, 2330 Holton Rd., with Rev. Paul Burmeister officiating, with burial at Restlawn Cemetery. VISITATION will be 1 hour prior to the service at church.
